We here at Denver Happy Hour really appreciate a good happy hour (hard to believe, I know). Drinks are nice, good appetizers are fun too, but what about something a little different? Something we all crave on these hot days and warm nights? Frozen yogurt and ice cream are sure to appease all ages and since we only want the most accurate reviews for our readers we took it as our duty to personally taste the treats at the best shops in Denver. Read on to know where to get your next creamy, cool fix!

If soft serve is your thing, and it is definitely mine, then you won’t want to pass up Yogurt Guru located in Cherry Creek North. Not only are each of the flavors delicious, but you get to serve yourself. Yup, you heard right. You get to swirl flavors into your bowl and top with as many fresh toppings as you want. Never again will you be wishing that the person behind the counter hadn’t been so stingy with your sprinkles.
This is no chain either. Each of the ingredients is fresh and local. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.

I’m sure you have all heard about Pinkberry by now. Without a doubt this is the trendiest yogurt in Denver. As fantastic as this yogurt is, be prepared to wait. The lines get long here. Pinkberry serves up tart yogurt in various flavors on Colorado Blvd. I’m particularly excited for the newest flavor, watermelon soft serve topped with fresh diced cucumbers. Healthy, refreshing, unique, and pleasing to the palate. Or you could stick with the more conventional tart yogurt and sweeten it with some blueberries or chocolate for a taste that will make you realize why the line stretches down the block.

Also there is a new PinkBerry set to open TOMORROW !! Pinkberry will be giving out FREE FROZEN YOGURT. That may help alleviate some of the crowd that conglomerates in the small shop in Glendale. Based upon the sales these guys have had I’m guessing they will think it is in their best interest to open up more shops as quick as they can.

Chill-in, another independent shop located in Cherry Creek serves up tart and sweet flavors. From 4-7 stop by for buy one get one. You can check out the flavors each day on their website http://chillinyogurt.com/ and if it isn’t yogurt you are craving Chill-in has you covered with sandwiches and various snacks. Don’t forget to grab your frequent customer card so that you can get a free yogurt after 10 purchases.

If you have plans to check out the awesome happy hours in the Highlands we’ve talked about recently you might want to swing by Red Trolley. All natural gelato and ice cream are the highlights here. But the real reason to stop by is because of the Root Beer float happy hour. These treats, made with Wynkoop root beer, will only set you back $2.50 from 3-6 daily.

Sweet Action is a spot that is going to be hit with hard scoop fans. This is hard scooped ice cream and not as light and healthy as the yogurt spots, but worth the splurge. Unique flavors range from Stranahan’s whiskey brickle, raspberry honey, red velvet and strawberry black pepper. If chocolate or vanilla are more your style they’ve got those too. Sweet Action has vegan flavors that are surprisingly delicious. But my favorite is the ice cream sandwiches. I promise, if you get one you will be hooked. On your next stroll down Broadway keep an eye open for this funky storefront.
