Because I often work remotely, from various dives and coffee shops around town, a friend recently (enthusiastically) referred me to KJ’s Coffee Bar, nestled deep in the Whittier neighborhood of northeast Denver. Now, having spent several workdays at KJ’s, I wanted to share 10 reasons why I will continue coming back.
1. They serve amazing coffee.
2. The location, off 25th and Gilpin, is far enough off the beaten path to really appeal to me.
3. The facility is outstanding – nice outdoor patio, plenty of space and seating, uber clean, funky and eclectic.
4. The staff is super cool – way friendlier than the more hipster coffee bar venues.
5. They serve up a diverse assortment of food – from pastries to burritos to sandwiches to breggos.
6. It really feels like a local Whittier place – not the typical homogeneous coffee bar crowd. Which is awesome.
7. It’s popular without being overcrowded.
8. It’s unpretentious.
9. They have LADIES NIGHT! Okay, that doesn’t really do much for me, but it’s awesome for the ladies! Ladies night happens every Thursday night – $1.50 off everything!
10. They have HAPPY HOUR! KJ’s serves beer (a respectable assortment) and wine all the time. From 5pm ’til close, Monday through Friday, KJ’s offers $1.00 off beer and wine, and PBR is always $2!!
